Steve Robinson, AIA, LEED BD+C

Modern livable designs are the focus of Steve’s architectural interest. There is an equal commitment to beauty, function, technical efficacy and sustainability. His work has won design awards and been published in magazines and books. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, is a charter member of the Atlanta chapter of the Building Enclosure Council (which focuses on sustainable and technical aspects of the building envelope), is a LEED accredited professional and has focused on Earthcraft House expertise. Sketching, both analytical diagrams and engaging perspectives, is a professional and personal interest.
Steve has a diversified background well suited to architectural practice. Highlights include:
Steve graduated from Auburn University’s Architecture program and was awarded the Humphries Scholarship as the Outstanding Graduating Senior.
Early career highlights include work with Hirsch Bedner & Associates/AiGroup on luxury hospitality projects (Peninsula Hotel in New York, Hyatt Ravinia and Washington Duke Hotel) and Jova/Daniels/Busby on various cultural, corporate and institutional projects (Wardlaw Center at Georgia Tech, Southern Progress Corporate HQ and First Rome Bank). Consulting with various firms, Steve had significant design involvements with Delta Crown Rooms (frequent flyer lounges) in Hawaii, Jacksonville, Orlando and Atlanta.
As a Senior Associate with George Heery and Satulah Group, Steve focused on Strategic Facilities Planning (Scientific-Atlanta, AFLAC) and Owner’s Representative/Program Management (Chemical Bank, Ochsner Medical Institutions, Chase-Manhattan Bank and Sunbelt Coca-Cola).
Mid-career experience includes eight years with Hardin Construction Company, one of the largest general contractors in the US. Convention Centers and similar large institutional projects became an expertise, with a focus on pre-construction services, estimating, constructability and general consulting to owners. Significant projects include the Puerto Rico Convention Center, Georgia World Congress Center Phase IV, Hampton Roads Convention Center (Hampton, Virginia), Charleston Area Convention Center/Performing Arts Center and Imaginon (Charlotte, North Carolina). In addition to pre-construction and project management services, Steve was responsible for the construction of the Children’s Garden, Trustee’s Garden and Flower Bridge at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
Along the way, Steve has designed a myriad of house…both new construction and renovations. He has also built or renovated several houses for himself; he understands the emotions and stewardship related to investing money into a construction project.
Steve’s personal time is focused on family, honing his skills on his Collings acoustic guitar and day hilkes. |
